Doga Kayalar, President
Born in 1980 in Turkey, Doga (Dee) lives and works in New York City. An Indiana University graduate with Master’s in Public Affairs, Doga works as Coordinator at the American Turkish Society. Her previous experience includes executive assistant, instructor and research fellow positions at various institutions. With overseas experience spanning over 15 years, her interests are pets, travel, meditation and making cheesecakes.

Togay Torunoglu, Vice-President
Vice President of TED USA and Turkish American Youth Association (TAYA), Togay earned his BA degree in Economics from Bilkent University. He works as a Product Manager in EcoLogicNY, a New York based organic apparel company. A professional volleyball player, Togay was a member of his high school volleyball team that won 2nd place in Turkey’s National Volleyball Championship in 1995.

Aral Celebioglu, Secretary
Aral earned his BA degree in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University. Currently, he holds an analyst position at BNP Paribas Securities, a subsidiary of
French bank BNP Paribas.

Zeynep Aksoy,
Board Member
Zeynep, TED USA Board member, and 1999 TED alum joins us from San Francisco where she lives now. Graduate of Fordham and London School of Economics, Zey’s work history includes work experience in Finansbank and Levi Strauss in Istanbul and instructorship in English at Middle East Technical University in Ankara. With much interest in social psychology and spirituality Zey is a PhD student in East West Psychology at CIIS in San Francisco. She is also a professional yoga practitioner.

Gokhan Gelisen, Founding Member
Gokhan works as a Cost Manager at Skanska USA Civil Inc. and is a PhD Candidate in Construction Management at NYU. He is currently registered as a Professional Engineer in New York and Connecticut. Gokhan holds active positions as President at both METU USA Alumni Association and Society of Turkish American Architects, Engineers and Scientists.

Hakan Kurt, Founding Member
Founding member of TED USA, Hakan has a knack for organizing events and getting people together. A natural networker since his Ankara College's Student Union days, Hakan just started his own "networking-related" consulting company:
www.connectionus.com. He also voluntarily serves as the President of Turkish American Youth Association (TAYA) and serves as a columnist on www.turkishny.com.

Alihan Polat, Founding Member
Alihan is an urban designer and planner, a hobbyist and a Kolej lover! He works as a Research Associate in an urban planning organization in New York. His volunteer work includes active participation at TED Student Board, Bilkent Alumni, Chumz Film Crew, TAYA and the long anticipated TED USA. Alihan freelances frequently with urban planners and designers in New York and Istanbul. Aviation, photography, art, and travel are among Alihan’s hobbies.

Erkin Yalcin
TED USA Coordinator in Washington DC, Erkin too is an urban planner and a planning expert. He has master degrees of International Economics from Gazi University and Public Management from University of Maryland. Currently, he works at the World Bank in DC as a consultant.
